Welcome to AATA

Learning that stays with you.

The Academy is a voluntary membership scheme operated by LifetrainUK Ltd. It encourages safe, compassionate use of the ATTUNE model and supports your continued development after completing an eligible award.

Your first 12 months of approved membership are free. After that, you can choose to renew for £39 a year, including VAT if applicable. There are no automatic charges.

Is it for me?

A next step for parents, carers and care teams.

You can apply if you are 18 or over and have successfully completed the relevant award. Earlier graduates are welcome too.

Parents and carers

For graduates of the ATTUNE Therapeutic Parenting Award, including foster, adoptive and kinship carers.

Approved members can use the designation AATA Registered Therapeutic Parent, ATTUNE pathway within this voluntary scheme.

Children’s home staff and managers

For graduates of the Therapeutic Practitioners Award or Advanced Therapeutic Practitioners Award, from support workers and residential care workers to senior staff and managers.

You join as a residential care member, using your approved membership category.

What you receive

Recognition. Resources. Room to grow.

Celebrate your learning

A digital membership certificate, unique verification number and dated membership badge.

Build on your practice

Membership learning resources to support your ongoing learning and caring role.

Keep reflecting together

Invitations to group learning and reflective practice opportunities, with dates, availability and any separate charge clearly stated.

Individual therapy, supervision and the full Learning Hub subscription are separate unless expressly included in your offer.

How it works

A straightforward way to join.

  1. Complete your eligible award

Successful completion must be verified by LifetrainUK; attendance alone is not enough.

  2. Send your application

Use the members pack to provide your award details and a short anonymised reflection. Agree to the code of conduct and membership terms. Contact info@ltuk.org for the current submission route and a secure route for any sensitive declarations.

  3. Start your free year

Applications are reviewed before approval. Your free 12 months start when membership is approved. There is no separate membership assessment fee, and completing a course does not guarantee membership.

Keep your membership current

Complete at least six hours of relevant continuing professional development each year and one short anonymised reflective account. Relevant employer or agency training can count. Follow the code of conduct and keep your details up to date.

We invite you to renew before expiry. Renewal is optional, requires your agreement and payment, and costs £39 for a further 12 months. If you do not renew, membership simply expires.

Clear and honest recognition

Understand your membership.

This is a voluntary membership scheme. It does not confer statutory registration, qualify you to practise psychotherapy or psychology, or approve you as a foster carer. It does not replace employer, agency or safeguarding responsibilities.

No government, Ofsted, ACCPH, AQA or Professional Standards Authority endorsement is claimed for the membership scheme. Membership records are private; there is no searchable public directory of carers.

The full pack explains standards, the code of conduct, applications, complaints, privacy and cancellation rights, including the 14 day cancellation period for paid purchases or renewals.
