Confidentiality and safeguarding

Respectful. Careful. Clear.

What to share when contacting us, and the limits of confidentiality.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Start with a general enquiry

Please keep your first message brief. Do not send children’s names, identifying case histories, health records or other sensitive information using the website form or an initial email. We can discuss what information is needed and agree an appropriate way to share it.

Confidentiality has limits

Information shared with LifetrainUK is to be handled with care and used for the purpose for which it is needed. Confidentiality is not absolute. Information may need to be shared where required by law, or where necessary and lawful to protect a child or adult from harm. Any disclosure should be relevant, proportionate and limited to those who need it. Where appropriate and safe, we will explain the reason for sharing.

Therapy, training and support

Before a service begins, the relevant confidentiality, safeguarding and record keeping arrangements should be explained as part of that service’s agreement. This website information does not replace those arrangements. In training or reflective discussions, avoid identifying children, families or other people unless there is an agreed, lawful need.

Urgent concerns

This website, its form and the general enquiry inbox are not emergency or safeguarding reporting services and are not continuously monitored. If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999. For a safeguarding concern, contact the relevant local authority safeguarding team or the police using their appropriate reporting route.
